Are You Integrated with LetterStream?
Frequently Asked Questions
How does LetterStream integrate with other systems?
Most customers connect through our LetterStream API to send documents, check job status, and retrieve tracking events. We also support webhooks/callbacks for status updates and production milestones, plus account-level reporting inside LetterStream. Once enabled, API samples and docs appear in your account under My Account.
Can I track mailings that were submitted via an integration?
Yes. You can poll job status, receive webhooks (about every ~4 hours), and access USPS/FedEx tracking, delivery confirmations, and Electronic Return Receipts for Certified Mail—all programmatically or in your account.
How quickly are integrated jobs processed?
Once paid, 95% of mail is sent to USPS by the next business day. You can use PrePay and low-balance alerts to keep automated jobs flowing without interruption.
What are my integration model options (who bills whom)?
We offer three common patterns:
Automation – You’re the end customer; LetterStream bills you and acts as your mailroom.
Monetization – You embed our API inside your product, keep your customer relationship and pricing, and LetterStream bills you (your customers never interact with us).
Partnership – Your customers use LetterStream directly for billing and support; you streamline how jobs land in their accounts.
What business results should we expect from integrating?
Fewer manual steps and errors, faster time-to-mail, real-time visibility, and lower operational overhead by removing repetitive tasks—core benefits of software integrations in general. Teams typically save time and avoid duplicate data entry by letting systems talk to each other.
We don’t have developers. Can we still use LetterStream?
Absolutely. You can run mailings entirely in the web app. If you later want automation, a light developer effort (often just a few hours) can connect your system using our samples.
How do we get API access?
Request enablement from your LetterStream rep or through your account. After approval, you’ll see sample files, code, and docs under My Account → API.
What if our platform vendor manages mail for us—can they integrate instead?
Yes. Ask your software provider to connect to the LetterStream API so your documents flow directly from their system to production. You keep your existing workflow while gaining tracking and same-day processing.
Where can we see a demo or speak with someone about architecture?
Book time with Aaron for a quick walkthrough of platform, security, and the best model (Automation, Monetization, or Partnership) for your scenario.
